BATTLEFIELD 3 SINGLE-PLAYER REVIEW!!

Hello and welcome to my battlefield 3 single-player review, I wanted to start this video off by saying DO NOT BUY THIS GAME JUST FOR THE SINGLEPLAYER! Whilst having moments of intensity and pace it still feels somewhat rushed and uncared for. You follow the story of one Sgt Blackburn, he is caught up in a war of mass destruction and he is the only man with the answers. Your enemy is…everyone.

There are certain aspects to this games single player, for instance the graphics are absolutely sublime, I mean like unlike anything seen before. I have only played the console version which although of a good standard was not mind blowing however from the YouTube footage which was put on the internet it is clear that the PC version is near perfection in terms of graphics. Another on which this game should be praised is that the voice acting is way better than any of its competitors and other games in general. (in a league of its own).

There are one or two major flaws with this game unfortunately thought, for instance the atrocious AI. I don’t think I have ever seen anything quite like it you will be playing and then all of a sudden an enemy will just stop doing everything and stand in the middle of a fire fight admiring the scenery !

I played this game on hard difficulty the highest and completed it (eventually) and although good fun to play I didn’t feel as though the A.I. that were apparently shooting at me with pin point accuracy had the skill to. For example I might be walking across a parking lot and I see one of the enemy PLR shooting a clip in no particular direction you know proper Taliban style, and somehow, if I stay out of cover each one of those bullets would hit me no matter what the distance. Things like this make the game less rewarding to play.

My other major gripe was a lack of any ump from the single player I did feel that almost all the components were there to make a real hell of a game however they didn’t quite give the campaign that COD factor. I mean I saw a lot of falling buildings-even had one land on top of me- however never really felt gobsmacked. It never grabbed my attention and said “LOOK AT THAT!”.

Overall the single player is a half arsed attempt from DICE with Lots of impressive gameplay badly executed.

I would give this part of the game a rating of : 5/10
